Set off from Mostar you will visit Blagaj and cycle along the serene Neretva River Valley, a landscape of lush greenery and rolling hills. Arrive in the lively town of Čapljina, known as the “green oasis” of Herzegovina. Explore the Ottoman city of Pocitelj, Mogorjelo Roman Villa and nearby Hutovo Blato Nature Park, a sanctuary for birdlife. Overnight in Čapljina.
Leaving Čapljina, you’ll ride through quiet villages and scenic countryside on your way to Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s only coastal town. During the second day of cycling, you’ll encounter some hills, but each one rewards you with stunning views of Hutovo Blato. Leaving the coast behind, the journey takes you inland to the village of Ravno, a charming stop known for its warm hospitality and delicious local cuisine. This is also home to the fascinating Vjetrenica Cave, a UNESCO World Heritage site that enchants visitors with its stunning formations and unique history. The trail now leads you to Trebinje, the southernmost town of Bosnia and Herzegovina, renowned for its vineyards and rich gastronomy. Explore the old town Trebinje, Arslanagića Bridge, Herzegovina Gračanica Monastery, Tvrdoš Monastery enjoy wine tastings of local varieties like Žilavka and Blatina, and soak in the serene beauty of the Trebišnjica River.
