{"id":307,"count":3,"description":"Tomislavgrad is a town and municipality in southwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina and also seat of the Assembly of Canton 10. Tomislavgrad is in the northern Herzegovina region in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The city name means literally \"Tomislav town\". The name was changed from Duvno in 1925 by king Aleksandar Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107 in tribute to king Tomislav - who was crowned in this area in 925 as the king of Croatia. The name was restored to Duvno after World War II Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. During the 1990s it was once again changed to Tomislavgrad. Still, among inhabitants osf Bosnia and Herzegovina, the local residents are often referred as \"Duvnjaci\" (Duvniaks-inhabitants) and the town is often called Duvno. Also, the town is sometimes referred to simply as \"Tomislav\". The Roman Catholic diocese in that area is still called Mostar-Duvno. During the Roman Empire the city was called Delminium and during the Kingdom of Croatia, \u017dupanjac. Under the Ottoman Empire, it was called \u017dupanj-potok and in Austria-Hungary, \u017dupanjac\r\n<h5>Duvanjski vremeplov<\/h5>\r\nTomislavgrad, odnosno cjelokupan duvanjski kraj podru\u010dje je iznimno bogate, ali i burne povijesti. Prema arheolo\u0161kim istra\u017eivanjima \u010dovjek se na podru\u010dju Duvanjskog polja pojavio u pretpovijesti, tijekom neolitika (oko 6500.-3500. g. pr. Kr.), dok arheolo\u0161ki ostaci nepobitno potvr\u0111uju kako je duvanjski kraj bio naseljen u eneolitiku (oko 3500.-2200. g. pr. Kr.).\r\n\r\nThe people of Tomislavgrad are proud of their rich history, especially with the coronation of king Tomislav in 925 in The Field of Duvno (\u201cDuvanjsko polje\u201d) which is the reason why Tomislavgrad is often referred to as the royal town.\r\n\r\n<strong>Stelae (Ste\u0107ci)<\/strong>\r\n\r\nSvojom ljupko\u0161\u0107u isti\u010du se nekropole u Duvanjskom polju. Mo\u017eete ih prona\u0107i u selima: \u201cSarajlije\u201d, \u201cZidine\u201d, \u201cLetka\u201d, \u201cLipa\u201d i \u201cMandino Selo\u201d.\r\n\r\n<strong>Bazilika Duvno, samostan i muzej<\/strong>\r\n\r\nBasilica of Duvno is considered to be one of the main sights of the town. Visitors can sit in a peaceful yard in front of the basilica and just enjoy. The interior is decorated by the painting \u201cJesus, friend of the little children\u201d (Isus prijatelj malenih) painted by a worldwide known artist Vlaho Bukovac.\r\n\r\nIn the same yard visitors will find the Franciscan Museum, the Franciscan Library, the Gallery of the Museum and the Exhibition of Ancient Elephant.\r\n\r\n<strong>Podzemni svijet Duvanjskog polja \u2013 speleologija<\/strong>\r\n\r\nMore than 200 speleological objects: pits, caves, sinkholes can be found in the mountain massifs around the Field of Duvno (\u201cDuvanjsko polje\u201d) and the Bu\u0161ko Lake (\u201cBu\u0161ko jezero\u201d).\r\n\r\nThe speleological association in Tomislavgrad \u201cThe Palace of Mijat\u201d (\u201cMijatovi dvori\u201d) brings us to better understanding of hydrological, geological and physical processes, but it also introduces us with the special values of the underground in our karstic terrain.\r\n\r\n<strong>\u201cDahna cave\u201d<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\u0160pilja koja ima gotovo sve. Rije\u010d je o veli\u010danstvenom arheolo\u0161kom i jo\u0161 boljem paleontolo\u0161kom nalazi\u0161tu. Procijenjena starost ostataka medvjeda koji su ovdje prona\u0111eni je od 5000 do \u010dak 20000 godina.\r\n\r\n<strong>Built on its own \u2013 \u201cVeliki Samograd\u201d<\/strong>\r\n\r\nU kr\u0161u Duvna, u dubokoj kotlini planine Grabovice, nalazi se duboka vrta\u010da duga 190 m, \u0161iroka 110 m i duboka od 40 do 60 m.\r\n\r\n<strong>Planinarenje<\/strong>\r\n\r\nMountaineering association \u201cOrlova stina\u201d takes more than 170 km of hiking trails, some of which are extremely challenging while others are good for a pleasant gentle walks.\r\n\r\nThe most famous trails:\r\n\r\n\u201cThe King\u2019s Trail\u201d (\u201cKraljevska staza\u201d)\r\n\u201cOne Million Steps Walk\u201d (\u201cPut od milijun koraka\u201d)\r\n\u2013part of the \u201cVia Dinarica\u201d trail which connects the most of the natural and cultural sights, as well as the mountaineering associations of Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Serbia and Kosovo, op.a.).\r\n\r\n\u201cThe route of Our Lady of Sinj\u201d (\u201cStaza Gospi Sinjskoj\u201d) \u2013 starts at the Franciscan abbey in Rama \u0160\u0107it, goes through Tomislavgrad and Solin to Sinj.\r\n\r\n<strong>\u201cThe Bu\u0161ko Lake\u201d (Bu\u0161ko jezero)<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\u201cThe Bu\u0161ko Lake\u201d on the altitude of 700 m is the greatest artificial lake in this part of Europe.\r\n\r\nDuring the summer months the water of lake is fairly warm and suitable for swimming.
