This easy-to-moderate hike takes you through sunlit rocky terrain, beech forests, and open mountain slopes, revealing breathtaking views over the Drežanka River valley and the spectacular 1,500-meter-deep Drežnica Canyon.
Along the route, you’ll pass the tranquil Gonđuša Lake, enjoy wide panoramic views of surrounding mountains and green valleys, and experience the peaceful silence of Herzegovina’s highlands. With a bit of luck, you may even spot wild horses roaming freely across the mountain plateau — a rare and unforgettable sight. Round-trip transport from Mostar to the trailhead, guidance by a fully equipped and experienced English-speaking mountain guide, plus a sandwich, snack, and coffee or tea.
Sturdy hiking boots or supportive trail shoes, a medium-sized backpack, at least 3 liters of water, a rain jacket, warm layers, extra t-shirts, lightweight gloves, a hat or sun cap, and sunscreen for protection against the sun
Pick-up from your accommodation, where our guide will meet you and transfer you to starting point. After the hike, you will be returned to your accommodation.

We rate our hikes from Level 1 (Easy) to Level 4 (Epic). Each hike includes a description of the level, expected daily walking time, distance, and elevation gain. If you have any questions, we’re more than happy to speak with you by phone and help you find the perfect hike!
We recommend that you bring or rent trekking poles for your hike to ensure comfort and stability on the trails. If you choose to rent them, we can help you arrange the best size and type after you book. Don’t worry if you prefer to bring your own — just let us know in advance. Insurance is not included in our tour packages. We highly recommend contracting travel insurance at the time of reservation with a company from where you are from.
Health insurance which covers you for illness or injury whilst cycling in your chosen destination is mandatory, we’ll ask you for details of your insurance provider before you travel.
