Herzegovina Bike II: From Roman Times to the Hajduk Republic is a multi-day cycling journey through one of Europe’s last undiscovered regions, where nature, history, and tradition intertwine. This tour leads cyclists along ancient Roman, Ottoman, Napoleonic, and Austro-Hungarian routes, combining the famous Ćiro’s Heritage Trail with the pristine landscapes of Blidinje Nature Park.
Starting and ending in Sarajevo, the route passes through Herzegovina’s most authentic landscapes – from waterfalls, river valleys, and traditional villages to high mountain plateaus and centuries-old Franciscan sites. Along the way, riders experience rich cultural heritage, local gastronomy, and warm hospitality, while enjoying diverse terrain and breathtaking views.
Designed for cyclists seeking more than just a ride, this tour offers a true journey through time, culture, and untouched nature – an unforgettable adventure in the heart of Herzegovina.
Rated 3 out of 4 our Advanced tours are designed for people who ride regularly and want back to back challenging days on the bike. Riders should be confident riding in a small group, comfortable on extended climbs (at your own pace) and have good bike handling skills on corners and descents. E-bikes are available on all of our tours.

Ćiro’s narrow-gauge railway still holds a mythical place in the collective memory of Herzegovina, almost fifty years after its closure. Once vital to local life, today—thanks to the enthusiasm of cyclists—it has been transformed into a world-famous cycling trail featured by major international media.
We cycle along this historic route to relive the life that once flourished beside the railway, passing through typical Herzegovinian landscapes and former railway stations. Our ride leads us to the Vjetrenica Cave, which we visit with an authorized guide who reveals its unique underground world.
We finish the ride at a former railway station, now a traditional tavern serving authentic Herzegovinian cuisine. After lunch, we return to the hotel for free time by the pool or rest before a shared dinner.
